A very common question during our initial consultation meeting is about the safety of silicone implants. Our modern silicone gel breast implants were actually approved by the FDA in 2006. With nearly a ten year history of safe and effective use since their approval, and a rapidly growing body of evidence and data supporting their safety and satisfaction rates, the short answer is yes, they are safe!
