For those under the age of 35, Botox® may be the ultimate secret to staving off the effects of aging and keeping a younger look for many years. The secret is all in the way Botox® works. Botox® actually attacks the true cause of most facial wrinkles– small tiny muscles just under the facial skin that tend to crinkle up and make pleating-like folds in the skin, year after year. Even when we think that our facial muscles are relaxed, these tiny muscles maintain just enough resting tone to keep the wrinkles alive. After years of this, the wrinkles become more and more a part of the skin itself. Think of a bad fold or crease appearing in clothing that was stored improperly– it’s not the material, it’s the way it was folded and how long it was put away. Botox® relaxes the muscles responsible for the “bad folds” for months at a time and literally keeps the wrinkles from being formed. The longer the wrinkles are kept away, the harder it is for them to come back and everybody is happy. So what do you think would happen if those very same muscles were treated at an earlier age, when the wrinkles are only just starting to form? You’re right–the same thing-except instead of having years of uncontrolled crinkling and wrinkling going on, the wrinkles never really get a chance to gain a strong foot-hold. The clothing is never stored away “improperly”. In essence, aging itself is “prevented”!

Small, discreet amounts of Botox® gently placed in key locations will more than likely significantly eliminate almost any bothersome facial wrinkle, but more importantly, over time this technique will prevent wrinkles from being repetitively formed, developed and “ironed in”– month after month and year after year. The telltale signs of aging, those lines and wrinkles, are never even given the chance to become progressively deep, prominent or noticeable. Although the birthdays will come and go, the lines and wrinkles are blocked from forming and the skin is able to stay consistently relaxed and more smooth. This has got to be anti-aging at its best! We don’t have to turn back a clock that has already been running incredibly slow. The secret is out– there has been a 300% increase in Botox® use for the 20 – 35 year old age group over the past 3 years. 1 in 5 women, that’s 20%, age 20 – 35 now get Botox® on a regular basis. Interesting– the skin looks younger because the aging process has been restricted so… it actually is “younger”! So at least one secret to younger looking skin is to make it stay younger with Botox®…before it gets a chance to turn older!
